Big Improvements Made at St. James

We are always looking for ways to grow and better serve our customers at Baillie. That is why we are excited to announce the installation of a brand new dry line and kiln system at our concentration yard in Galion, Ohio.

DSC7570With the new TS Manufacturing dry line upgrade, we will be able to increase the production capabilities of our Galion facility. The new line doubles our lumber piling capacity and provides us with enhanced lumber sorting abilities to better serve our customers tailored requests. In addition, our implementation of the “infinite fence” and in-line rip saw features on the new line will help us center the boards in relation to the trim saws and allow us to improve board trimming from either end of the board in multiple increments.

While the improvements on the new dry line are exciting in and of themselves, the addition of 6 new kilns will increase our kiln capacity by 65%. Kevin Knepp, the Yard Manager of the Galion facility, is excited about the recent improvements. “The investment in the new kilns and production line at St. James will allow our facility to produce an even better product in higher quantities for our customers”, said Kevin. “The new production line is something our employees are taking great take pride in. It means a lot to them to see the company investing in the yard and the community as we grow.”

DSC7668The new production and drying capacity will enable us to better meet the needs of our customers’ and is expected to enhance our ability to manufacture more of the primary products produced in Galion which have traditionally been Red Oak, White Oak, Ash, Walnut, Poplar, and Cherry.
