4 Tips to Improve Your Marketing Efforts in 2023

Social media, websites, banner ads, tradeshows, email blasts, print advertising etc. How effective were your marketing campaigns in 2022? Even if your company prospered because of expert marketing, there are always ways to improve.

marekting ideasWe find it is best to always be looking for ways to enhance and improve some of our marketing programs like our hardwood stock list emails, this lumber blog and our digital advertising messages just to name a few.  We believe it is a great best practice to continuously improve our marketing efforts year.

So, here are four best practice tips recently shared with us that we will be keeping in mind for 2023. Maybe some work for you as well!

1. Conduct more market research. No one can claim any longer that there are insufficient sources of information regarding a company’s potential clients and its competitors’ strengths and weaknesses. Ensure your sales team is equipment with knowledge and help them craft key messages that are relevant, timely and differentiated.

2. Find your niche and promote it. Just like in other industries, Few hardwood lumber companies can be all things to all people. Within the broader marketplace, there are undoubtedly niche areas where your business can be of most interest to specific clients. That’s how we usually start the process of developing proprietary grades or custom lumber solutions.

As Motley Fool puts it, “Identify how you can separate your solution and brand from the rest of the market and create a unique experience that your prospects will continue to invest in.” Customize your marketing materials (ads, articles, webinars, etc.) in order to “develop yourself as a thought leader in your niche.”

3. Put a greater emphasis on social media. Regardless of the turmoil in the high-tech market these days, social media is still a key weapon in any marketing team’s arsenal. Undoubtedly, you have a thriving social media presence through LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and so on.

But there’s more to it than just promoting your business. Through social media, you can gather in-depth data relating to your prospective clients and potential vendors, while also conducting ongoing conversations with your target audience as a way of building trust and loyalty. And don’t under estimate the value of positive emotional connections with your employees who might like to connect and follow your corporate pages!

4. Use more video to get your message across. People respond to visual stimuli, which is why YouTube and other video websites attract huge numbers of viewers. For business, video is useful for “explaining the benefits and features of a complex product or service or offering a behind-the-scenes peek at your company.” We have found, for example, that our clients enjoy learning more about our hardwood ripping process or different aspects of hardwood forestry through video.
