Manufacturing New York State Hard Maple Lumber

Hard maple is one of the most popular hardwood lumber species in the industry.  With a vast growing region that spans from Minnesota to Maine and from Canada through Kentucky, Hard Maple can be found in many different regions.

Main times people have a preference for where their hard maple comes from.  Over the years, New York has been one of these preferred regions and as a supplier who operates several hardwood sawmills and lumber yards in New York, we44 HM Prime 100 White 3 can understand why.

Some of the things we focus on when producing hard maple start even before the sawmill.  For example, much of the lumber we produce is harvested from timber grown by private landowners.  Our foresters strive to develop a partnership with the landowners that encompasses the entire forest management process, (from project planning, timber selection, harvesting through restoration).

We are fortunate that our sawmills are located in relatively different corners of the State. This allows us to maximize log procurement, direct the logs to the closest sawmill and help keep lumber with similar characteristics, grain patterns and color together improving overall lumber quality for our customers.

Our sawmills are staffed with some of the finest experienced sawyers in the industry.  We regularly saw thicknesses from 4/4 to 8/4. Occasionally we will cut 10/4, 12/4 or 16/4 but that is admittedly less common.

We also benefit from the fact that our sawmills are co-located, or within close proximity, to our hardwood lumber yards.  This enables us to properly manage the grading, sorting and drying processes so our customers receive the highest quality hard maple in the industry.

Owning the process from start to finish, and dealing directly with land owners and loggers from the beginning, helps us produce some of the finest hard maple around.  If you use hard maple lumber in what you make and have not considered New York hard maple recently, give us a call.  We would be happy to help you.
