5 Tropical Species That Make For Beautiful Hardwood Flooring

If you are a manufacturer of hardwood flooring or possibly a hardwood distributor that supplies a manufacturer, there is no doubt you are most likely developing products for your customers using a variety of hardwood species. Cherry, Hickory, Maple, Walnut, are all frequently requested and commonly used species in the manufacturing of quality hardwood flooring. However, hardwood flooring made from exotic or tropical hardwoods can be just as desirable and should not be overlooked.

Here are 5 tropical hardwood lumber species that we provide that can be used to make eye-catching, high quality, hardwood flooring.

oc jatoba Jatoba, (aka Brazilian Cherry) - Jatoba stands out. With color that can range from a reddish brown to blood orange with distinctive dark streaks, it can add a ton of character to any room. Jatoba is also known for being an extremely hard species which makes for exceptional durability and perfect for hardwood flooring.

oc bloodwoodBloodwood - The pinkish red to greyish color and variable grain of hardwood flooring made from Bloodwood are what really catch people's eye. Bloodwood is also very hard. Twice as hard as Hard Maple which provides excellent durability when used for flooring.

oc goncaloalvesTigerwood - Vibrant strokes of brown, tan, yellow and orange throughout give Tigerwood its distinct character.  Tigerwood helps accent any room with a striped appeal which has made it very popular with many decorators and designers.

oc caribbeanroseCaribbean Rosewood - Caribbean Rosewood gives hardwood flooring a very unique look. It is colorful, with various shades of brown, yellow and red.  It can have an unpredictable wild curly interlocking grain and usually appears to have a natural black stripping effect.
